Why Discord
For the people who weren't sure.
We looked at Wix Forum (it was discontinued in April 2025), Wix Groups (too post-and-comment, not chat), and Discourse (real forum, real cost). Discord won for v1 because the audience we're recruiting — Emira owners, younger Elise/Exige buyers, track-day folks — are already there. The mobile app is excellent. The voice rooms are practical (pre-event prep calls, road-trip companionship). And the chapter channels let local communities have their own space without administrative overhead.
For long-form discussion — build threads, multi-page tech debates — Discord's Forum channels work well in 2026. If the community ever needs more (a SEO-friendly searchable archive, threaded long-form), we add Discourse as a second surface. Discord stays as the casual layer.
Older members: there's a one-page "Discord for people who don't use Discord" guide linked from the welcome channel. The first month after launch we ran in-person onboarding at every chapter meet.
